Delivery Policies

1. Purpose
To outline the provisions, requirements, and procedures for same day delivery of prescription and over-the-counter medications to community patients within our service area.

2. Scope
This policy applies exclusively to community patients served directly by Northwest 7 Day Pharmacy. It does not apply to hospice patients, facility-based patients, or those under organizational service agreements.

3. Delivery Zones
Same day delivery is available to the following suburbs/areas:
   • Hobsonville
   • Hobsonville Point
   • Westgate
   • West Harbour
   • Massey
   • Royal Heights
   • Greenhithe
   • Kumeu
   • East Taupaki
   • Huapai

4. Order Cut-Off and Delivery Windows
   • Weekday Order Cut-Off Time: 6pm Monday to Friday. 
   • Weekend Order Cut-Off Time:  4.30pm Saturday and Sunday.
   • Guaranteed Delivery Window: Orders placed by the cut-off will arrive at the delivery address by 9:00 pm on the same calendar day.

5. Eligibility and Authorization
   • Deliveries will only be initiated after receiving explicit notification from the patient, a family member, or a referring doctor          indicating the need for same day delivery.

   • Orders without timely notification will be processed as standard next-day delivery.

6. No-Answer Protocol
   6.1. If the delivery driver makes a delivery attempt and there is no response at the door:
   • The package may be left in the patient’s secure mailbox if safe and appropriate.
   • If mailbox delivery is not feasible or the patient requests otherwise, the package will be returned to the pharmacy.

   6.2. Consequence of Multiple No-Answer Events:
   • After two (2) documented delivery attempts resulting in no answer at the address, same day delivery privileges will be             suspended for that patient.

   • Subsequent orders will automatically default to next-day delivery until reinstatement is requested and reviewed.

7. Patient Notification and Communication
   • It is the patient’s responsibility (or that of their family/doctor) to notify Northwest 7 Day Pharmacy by phone or secure               messaging of the need for same day delivery before 6:30 pm.

   • Pharmacy staff will confirm orders and estimated delivery times during business hours (8:00 am–8:00 pm).

8. Exceptions & Limitations
   • Deliveries may be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, traffic incidents). The pharmacy will          notify patients as soon as possible if the 9:00 pm guarantee cannot be met.

   • Items requiring special handling (controlled drugs, refrigerated medications) are covered under separate handling                    policies but are eligible for same day delivery if requested by 6:30 pm.

9. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if operational needs or regulatory requirements change.
